Davidson's Plum

Davidson's Plum, scientifically known as Davidsonia jerseyana found in a coastal and low land subtropical rainforest in northern NSW. With a large singular stem and broad hairy leaves, this tree produces plum-like fruit that bears directly from the tree's trunk. Famous for its bold sour flavour and extensive health benefits, Davidson's Plum is a highly prized native Australian bush food. 

Our Davidson Plums are native to Bundjalung land. Two species of Davidson's Plum are native to this region, both of which are endangered. By buying these native fruits, you are helping conserve and preservation of the wild population. 

Davidson's Plum is perfect for making jams and marmalade due to the fruit's high levels of naturally occurring pectin. Davidson's Plum can be enjoyed as a rich, complex sauce to compliment meat or fish with rich, bold flavours similar to dark berries such as blackberries or cherries.   With such a unique flavour profile complementing both sweet and savoury, the uses of these fruits are endless.
