Bush Basil, also known as Native Basil, is a perennial plant made of soft-wood. Despite the name is not related to the European Basil, that we all know, but more close to the Mint family. The leaves are wide and hairy with a soft texture. Taste-wise they are in between the more common mint, sage and basil. The aroma is quite unique and fresh perfect to incorporate in any dish or in a refreshing drink in summer. Blue and Purple flowers will bloom from it every Spring and Summer attracting native bees and birds. Grows in either full-sun or partial shade, well-draining soil and in moist soil. This can grow even up to 1.5/2m tall and 1m wide in certain conditions (smaller in cooler climates). Comes in different sizes.
